Enjoy a perfect synthesis of historic grandeur and chic contemporary style in this meticulously renovated and reimagined Victorian two-family residence in coveted Pacific Heights. Featuring a luxurious three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom upper unit and a lovely one-bedroom garden apartment, this extraordinary property is ideal for investors or owners seeking rental income or multigenerational living space.

Ornate Corinthian columns and granite steps invite you inside the upper unit's parlor level to discover new wide-plank hardwood floors, soaring ceilings dotted with medallions and spectacular designer lighting, and the grand millwork you'd expect in a fine turn-of-the-century home. A gracious foyer opens to the brilliant living room, where a large bay window creates the perfect office nook. Enjoy lavish entertaining or comfortable daily life surrounded by a wall of sleek built-ins, a marble fireplace and a charming deck. Ahead, the gorgeous open kitchen features custom glass-front-cabinetry, marble counters, a pantry and new paneled and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range, dishwasher and built-in microwave. Plan your next dinner party in the impeccable dining room, serve casual meals at the breakfast bar, or step onto the lovely rear deck overlooking the sunny south-facing yard below. A powder room, coat closet and laundry room complete this floor.

Ascend the grand, curved staircase to discover a gorgeous stained glass skylight and illuminated art niches. On the top floor, sleep soundly in the extravagant owner's suite featuring a glorious bay window, crystal chandelier, delightful carved figurehead brackets and a massive walk-in closet. The new en suite bathroom dazzles with floor-to-ceiling marble, a freestanding soaking tub, frameless glass rain shower and double vanity. At the end of the hall, a secondary bedroom with double exposures enjoys wide-open views that stretch all the way to Sutro Tower. A third bedroom and a gorgeous full bathroom complete this home.

In the equally well-appointed garden apartment, you'll find a bright living room with a fireplace and French doors. The gleaming modern kitchen boasts glossy flat-front cabinetry and top-notch appliances, including a vented Miele gas range and dishwasher. A washer-dryer is smartly concealed under the waterfall breakfast bar. Glass doors reveal the sun-splashed bedroom that opens to a deck and the lovely yard. A walk-in closet, full bathroom and split HVAC units add convenience and comfort. A two-car garage and driveway provide plenty of parking in this special home.

This wonderful Pacific Heights location is nestled alongside the Presidio and Alta Vista Park, with easy access to Fillmore Street, Cow Hollow, Laurel Village amenities. Enjoy fantastic dining, nightlife and shopping nearby, including Trader Joe's and Target, in this incredibly walkable neighborhood filled with excellent transit options.

2919 California Street

Living in Pacific Heights provides an opportunity to rub elbows with some of Silicon Valley’s most prominent players. PayPal founder Peter Theil, Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, and Apple designer Jonathan Ive have all made their homes in what is considered the most expensive neighborhood in the United States. Palatial highrise condos and luxurious row houses are the most common types of real estate you will find in Pacific Heights. Although Presidio is just a short trip away from Pacific Heights, the neighborhood features two small parks of its own: Lafayette Park and Alta Plaza Park. Lafayette Park offers beautiful grassy hills, a playground, and an off-leash dog park, while Alta Plaza is perched even higher with most of the same amenities. When Pacific Heights residents are looking for a place to eat, they usually make their way to Fillmore Street. Notable local restaurants on Fillmore Street include: Palmer’s Tavern: Featuring daily happy hour specials, Palmer’s also offers a variety of delicious salads, entrees, and desserts. La Mediterranee: A quaint cafe perfect for those Middle-Eastern cuisine cravings. Salt & Straw: After a great meal for a day of exploring, locals love to stop by for unique ice cream flavors and handmade waffle cones. Fillmore Street is also a great place to enjoy a day of shopping and entertainment. Explore the amazing shoe boutique Superga San Francisco, then walk north to Mureta Antiques. After the shopping is done, catch a flick at the Landmark Clay Theatre, or visit Boom Boom Boom for a night of live funk, jazz and blues. Locals and tourists are often amazed at the variety of landmarks and attractions you can find in Pacific Heights. Enjoy a guided tour through the Haas-Lilienthal House, an excellent example of Victorian architecture, or check out the McElroy Octagon House on the second Sunday or second and fourth Thursday of every month. Lastly, the southeast corner of Presidio is less than two miles away, so there is always something fun to explore near the Pacific Heights neighborhood!
